My name is April, and I own Rosie’s Bake Shoppe – a home bakery in Festus, Missouri specializing in custom cakes, cookies, and cupcakes as well as teaching decorating classes.

You might be wondering why it’s not called “April’s Bake Shoppe.” Well, my middle name is Rose and my mom and dad call me ‘Rosie’ or ‘Rose’ more often than my first name. I love my first name, but I always kind of wished it was just Rose. Although, I’ve also been called the Cake Lady and the Cookie Lady. All names work for me!

While I’ve been baking since I was in high school, I actually went to college and started my career as a graphic designer. I decided to combine my love of art, creativity, and baking together and opened Rosie’s Bake Shoppe. My favorite things to bake and decorate are wedding cakes. I love learning about the happy couple and letting their unique personalities shine through that special cake. It’s such an honor to be a small part of such a momentous occasion!
